JoAnn Smith of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on December 29, 1952, a daughter to the late Lester Lay and the late Elzena Mitts. On August 9, 1969, JoAnn was united in marriage to Danny R. Smith.
JoAnn entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 10, 2017 having reached the age of sixty-four years, five months, and fourteen days.
JoAnn will be missed by all who knew and loved her including her beloved husband, Danny Smith of Mineral Point; two sons: Darren Smith of Mineral Point, and Dennis Smith and wife Teresa of Potosi; sisters: Roseanna Greenwell and husband Jim, Betty Hamby and husband Clint, Doris Albenese, and Ceola Webb and husband Otto; three grandchildren: Tessy Ann Elaine Waltz and husband Joshua, Daniel Glynn Smith and wife Destiny, and Mark Patrick Smith; and great grandchildren: Joshua Raymond Waltz, Joslynn Elaine Waltz, Jenna Ann Waltz, and Gabriella Marie Smith.
In addition to her parents, JoAnn is preceded in death by her sister, Florann Albenese; and brother, Lester Joe Lay.
Visitation for JoAnn will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the DeClue Funeral Home from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, beginning at 9:00 AM.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, held at the DeClue Memorial Chapel with Pastor Harvey Price officiating.
Interment and final prayers will be held at the New Diggins Cemetery. DeClue Funeral Home was privileged to care for the arrangements for JoAnn during this time of remembrance.
