Kelly Joan Griffin was born on February 22, 1986 in Festus, Missouri a daughter to Kevin Scott and Eleanor “Ellie” (Walter) Scott. On October 12, 2013 Kelly was united in marriage to Caleb Griffin at the Fellowship Baptist Church and they shared nearly four years together.
Kelly went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family having reached the age of thirty-one years, seven months and six days.
Kelly will be missed by all who loved and knew her, including her husband Caleb Griffin of Potosi; daughter, Ella Kate Griffin; step daughter, Jaiden Lee Griffin and step son, Garrett Matthew Ciwosky; father and mother: Kevin and Ellie Scott of Potosi; three sister: Jeanette Scott Upchurch; Jennifer Boardman and husband Richard; Katelynn Scott; nephew, Ethan Matthew and nieces: Harper Rose and Maggie May; step grandmother, Lucy Joan Scott; father-in-law, Mark Griffin and mother-in-law, Robin Vance; also surviving are many special aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
Kelly was preceded in death by her grandparents: Larry Scott, Donna Scott and Glenn and Francis Walter.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 5-9 p.m. at the DeClue Funeral Home, 301 East High Street, Potosi, Missouri 63664. Visitation will resume on Monday, October 2, from 9-11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church 10479 State Hwy P, Potosi, MO 63664.
A Celebration of Kelly’s life will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. held at the First Baptist Church of Potosi with Pastor Mike Jarvis officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are directed to the Ella Griffin college fund at Belgrade State Bank. Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Memorials can be given to the funeral director.
Interment and final prayers will be held at the Scott Family Cemetery, Potosi. Honoring Kelly by serving as Casket Bearers will be Cole Richards, Tommy Coleman, Colby Helms, Collin Gillam, Johnny Cain and Chad Griffin.
